Help Tam Ben Fight Lymphoma GoFundMe Appeal

We have a very talented Nigerian artist, Tam Ben, who needs your help.

We’ve featured him on the Talent Showcase Africa Playlist and introduced him to the Djooky Music Awards where he did Africa proud by not only winning numerous awards and cash prizes but also landing a record deal with Djooky Records.

As you may well be aware, the DMAs have been on hiatus since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine because 50% of Djooky is based in Ukraine.

Tam Ben has been diagnosed with advanced nasopharyngeal malignancy and is currently being treated at the NSIA-LUTH Cancer Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.

Essentially, he has stage 4 cancer and URGENTLY needs chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment.

That being said, Talent Showcase Africa is not just an emerging talents music platform, it’s a community. And we strongly believe that when one of us is in dire need of help, it is our responsibility to bring their plight to the community for support. Needless to say, Tam Ben is very much a part of this very special community.

Collin Mogagabe, our CEO at Nam Radio has put up a Help Tam Ben Fight Lymphoma GoFundMe appeal to help raise at least $4,000 for his treatment.

Please donate if you can, and kindly share with the music fraternity and others to help bring this young man back to good health.

The all-new JOETTMUSIC.COACH domain goes LIVE

Hello everyone, it sure has been a while since I last blogged here. Like I've said before, I'm still blogging (but not here), and I send out a weekly newsletter to over 6K emerging talents from across the African continent. So yes, I have deadlines to keep and a weekly radio show to curate and produce. But I do want to edge my way back to blogging here, albeit very gradually.

And so, first off, I have registered a brand new domain: JOETTMUSIC.COACH

Sadly, I lost my JOETTMUSIC.COM domain simply because I forget to renew it! And I've been beating myself up over this, but I have to get over it and I think this new domain is a good place to start.

And so you can catch last week's 24th February 2023 Talent Showcase Africa Playlist radio show on Podcast here. To stream/download the delineated Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts, click the widget below. Enjoy!

I've Been Discovering New African Talents & Charting the Best tracks

It has been a while since my last blog post, I know. I didn't stop blogging though. In fact, quite the contrary.

I've been busy developing a new brand and working in radio to push emerging African artists from across the continent, to the fore.

So my daily activity nowadays involves curating music from emerging artists and handpicking those that I will air on radio via Talent Showcase Africa Playlist.

All tracks will first air on online radio Nam Radio Local and then later, the show is repackaged and customized for Namibia's mainstream channel ENERGY100 fm.

You'll find the Press Release pertaining to the partnership deal between Nam Radio and ENERGY100 fm here.

We officially launched the Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts on Namibia's ENERGY100 fm at 2100 CAT, on 17th June 2022. This is definitely a milestone in this entire idea, as it completes the package intrinsic in launching unsigned, emerging artists via radio. Now let's take a look at this week's singles chart (below).

TSA Radio Charts Top 3

1. Slick One - Feeling Laka (ft. Jay Trigga) [Zambia]

2. DaFaith - Zanku [South Africa]

3. Solidskid - Gimme [Nigeria]

I have to say, what I enjoy the most about this job is discovering new music from African talents. There's so much of it out there that is SO GOOD. I'm thrilled to be able to share my golden nugget finds with you.

Please share this blog post on your social media so all your friends get plugged into this experience. You can listen to the first-ever Talent Showcase Africa Radio Charts run down via the widget below. Enjoy!

How to Empower the Body for Optimal Health with Cellular Nutrition

I usually write about music and singing on herewell, I'm a professional voice coach and so that can be expected—after all, it is my niche and the purpose of this blog. Having said that, the issue of vocal health through nutrition to preserve the voice is something I have advocated and blogged about quite extensively too.

But today I want to delve a little deeper into overall health matters, over and above simply maintaining a healthy voice. I have been on cellular nutrition for 27 YEARS, and I want to share with you what I know and DO myself.

So let's begin.

If you were under the impression that you can get all the nutrients your body needs for optimum health from food, then you'll need to think again. Nutrient depletion of soils is a widespread soil degradation phenomenon that occurs as a consequence of soil erosion (it is the topsoil in which generally most soil nutrients are present that erodes fastest). So due to intense, mismanaged farming, soil nutrients are declining.
To grow optimally, plants require these nutrients for photosynthesis, enzymes, protein synthesis, and more. As a result of declining soil fertility and selective breeding, the nutritional contents of some fruits, vegetables, and grains have also been compromised.

So it is highly unlikely your body will find all the nutrients it needs in food.

If you have experienced bad health and rapid aging in your life, and you want to change all of that for a better, healthier, younger-looking YOU, then you will be pleasantly surprised to discover that you CAN indeed turn things around with cellular nutrition, backed by science

I for one have been on cellular nutrition for 27 years STRAIGHT. And this is why I will vouch for supplementation for optimum health absolutely any day.

When you begin to enjoy the BENEFITS of good health (with the best nutrition money can buy); and when your body is functioning optimally, you'll want to rejoice; keep going, and SHARE your success story with the world.
You’re going to be amazed to find just how effective Pro Vitality is for you. This is a product I have personally been using for many many years, and what I like about this Daily Whole Food Nutrition is that it will feed, protect, regulate and nourish your cells for lifelong health and vitality.

I wonder if you’ve also struggled with weight management? If so, then you'll find weight loss relatively easy with NeoLifeShake Creamy Vanilla and NeoLifeShake Berries n' Cream, as it helps satisfy hunger while giving you lasting energy throughout the day.

Actually, I am living proof that cellular nutrition WORKS!

Over the years people have always wanted to know what it is that I did to look the way that I do... like,  'fit, fresh and youthful,' they say. And 'how do you get that skin,' they ask.

Yes, I eat healthily and hit the gym four times a week. But that's not all. If I'm to be completely honest with you, my BIGGEST SECRET is cellular nutrition

My Organic Skincare Secrets

Coconut is brilliant for the skin. It's easy to make. I grate the coconut and boil it to extract virgin coconut oil. The video below pretty much takes you through the process. Unlike the instructions in the following video, I don't boil the residue to a crisp. I remove it when it's still mushy, and without adding anything to it, pack it into a container, and keep it in the fridge to use as a facial scrub every morning. I simply scoop a tablespoon of scrub and place it on a sizeable piece of cotton wool before stepping into the shower. In addition to the coconut oil, I use Neolife Rejuvenating Rich Cream and Neolife Insta-Lift Eye Gel.

Reversed Aging with Human Growth Hormone (HGH)

And what's more
I will confess, I do sneak in the highly effective Human Growth Hormone (HGH) supplement GenF20 Plus from time to time. I have to say, it is a miracle supplement. You'll simply love it. For more information on this scientific phenomenon, read this article: Scientific Evidence Reveals "Fountain of Youth" Formula

So there you have it! All of my dirty little secrets in one rather short article. I can't believe I just did that!

If you’re the kind of person that wants to look good, feel great and live a super healthy life, then what I have just REVEALED in this article is the ONLY way to do it. If it worked for ME, it can work for YOU. And it's never too late to get started. So, be sure to check out my nutritional store TODAY, click here.

Speech Level Singing Technique Explained

There's a lot of confusion and misconception as to what singing really is. Now, according to the man who invented speech-level singing technique--name withheld, cos I don't want to start a debate or offend anyone putting themselves out as the ultimate source of information on this technique.

So let's begin...

"When it comes to singing you have to be able to deliver a song in a manner that best suits the mood and style of that song, and the way you feel about that song. Your success or failure in doing this depends a great deal on your vocal technique, the way you use your voice. The better the technique, the greater the command you have over your voice. And the greater the variety of material you can sing.

No-matter if you sing pop, musical comedy or opera, there is an effective technique that helps you sing more easily and comfortably, many hours at a time, day after day. It’s called speech-level singing technique, or simply, speech level singing.

Speech level singing means no matter how high or low; or how loudly or softly you sing, you never do anything that prevents you from singing with the same, comfortable easily produced voice when you speak.

Even though you use a greater pitch and dynamic range when you sing, nothing should feel any different in your mouth or throat. There should be no tension in your tongue, your jaw, soft pallet or your neck.

If you’ve taken voice lessons before, or have sung in a choir, your voice teacher or choir director has probably instructed you at one time or another to give your tone more support. Sing from your diaphragm. Let your tone resonate. Place your tone forward. Project your voice…and so on.

However, such instruction can be confusing and even dangerous. I’ve seen it destroy many fine voices. Singing technique associated with this kind of instruction can only cause your voice to jam up, and your body to become stiff and rigid.

These kind of instructions have a tendency to talk in result. To explain to you what singing should be, rather than how to allow it to happen. With speech-level technique, you need only concern yourself with one thing when you sing: speech.

Your tone production must remain consistent—or as we say, connected from the bottom of your range—that is your chest voice, all the way into the extended upper range of your head voice.

AND you must coordinate that connection from a vocal posture that is exactly the same as when you're speaking comfortably… that is, your speech level.

With speech-level singing your voice is automatically supported, your diaphragm and all your breathing muscles work the way they should to supply your vocal chords with just the right amount of air.

You don’t need to push, tighten or manipulate anything to have a strong, clear and dynamically flexible voice. With speech-level singing, your voice is automatically balanced with just the right amount of top, middle and bottom harmonic qualities.

You don’t sound muddy, dark, throaty on low tones; or slatey, pinched or strident on high notes.

With speech-level singing your voice only gets better as you get older, there won’t be any loss of range, quality or power; BUT to develop speech-level singing technique you need the training. Or if you’re like most singers, retrain your voice, with the help of special exercises."

I hope that helps. It sure did help me better understand what we're dealing with.

You are the instrument, learn to sing like a pro!
