What to Expect from a Vocal Coach

The first thing I'd want to establish is what your vocal difficulties are and what needs fixing. After running you through a thirty-minute assessment I am able to determine where you're at as a singer and whether or not you do have potential. Most of my clients do not intend to become professional singers, they only want to know how to sing properly; or for those in the corporate world how to speak well to command attention and respect in the boardroom. That said, whatever your desires and dreams, a vocal coach like myself can help you find your true voice.

Just to give you an idea. I run five different vocal training programs: Beginners 1, Beginners 2, Intermediate, Advanced and Pro. With each program I put students through sixty-minute vocal exercises to help improve range, pitch accuracy, flexibility, and voice quality through proper breathing and voice projection techniques. After five sessions I start to include what I call jam sessions… that’s where we get to work with cover songs (or songs my students have written) in order to apply what they’ve learned to song. This element of the training is a lot of fun… because my students get to sing some GREAT songs and to understand better the technical details of singing and songwriting! Each program is ten hours (spread over ten lessons). So now you know what to expect from a vocal coach.

Boogie Explores the Origins Of Disco and WHY It Still Rocks

On today’s show: We’re going to be looking back at the origins of disco with some early 70s classics (watch out for Manu Dibango); some late 70s disco (watch out for Diana Ross); and then we’ll head over to the 80s with a selection 80s Movie Hits—yes, you heard that right. For the first time ever on Boogie—I’ve wanted to do this for quite a while—I’m going to play music from the hit movies of the 80s. And look out for a quiz coming up on the Nu Disco segment of the show where I’ll be asking you to tell me who the original artists of some reworked disco tracks were. Simply SMS your views to 0715 364 045. It’s that simple. So stick around for that. And last but not least, my guest on the show today is Caroline Uliwa—a correspondent from The Citizen newspaper who will be interviewing ME on the show actually. She wants to know WHY music from yesteryear has stood the test of time?

Exclusive Donna Summer Interview Airs On Boogie

There's going to be a good measure of 80s disco on the show today, and in the second half of the program I'll take you back to the 70s with the Queen Of Disco Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" followed by a Donna Summer interview that took place in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. What I like about this interview is that in just 15 minutes it covers a pretty broad spectrum as regards her musical career, her family, anecdotes from the past in such fine detail as though it were only yesterday; and you get to sense and feel her magnetic personality. I tell you, this woman wasn't crowned Queen Of Disco for nothing. You will enjoy this interview. I know you will. If you love Donna Summer, this will bring you closer to her. And after the interview, I'll play you "Last Dance" that Oscar winning Donna Summer classic from the movie Thank God It's Friday .

Once again, there's a heck of a lot to go through today. It will be hectic...I think I need to publish a Boogie Behind The Scenes on this blog, what do you say? You have no idea what I go through. It can be an interesting read. Tune in to Times 100.5 FM at 6pm TODAY or Listen live on stream at: http://www.timesfm.co.tz
